The start of my love affair with fitness began six weeks after the birth of my first daughter forty-one years ago when I realised that my body and its jiggly bits would need a little nudge to get it back into shape. I dragged myself reluctantly into the Spring Street gym in Bondi Junction and employed the services of a personal trainer to write me a programme. One thing led to another, and before I knew it, I was hooked! There followed a whirlwind of various exercise obsessions: twice-daily aerobics or Step classes (complete with Jane Fonda style leggings, fluoro leotards, and headbands), running clubs, training and competing nationally in Taekwondo, an attempt at mastering golf (mission impossible), learning Olympic lifting (nothing better than the feeling of a good Power Clean & Jerk), and weights, weights, and more weights (and no, I'm still not "big").

Eventually, this led to the realisation that I found absolutely no joy or meaning in working in a "conventional" business. After parting with my instant printing business in Bondi Junction in 2000, I then embarked on becoming a personal trainer. That was the best decision I ever made. There are no words to express the immense joy and satisfaction I derive from having the privilege to help people, to witness how their lives are changed and improved by becoming fitter, healthier, and more confident through exercise and good nutrition. However, after working as a personal trainer for seventeen years in Fitness First in the CBD, I started to yearn for something a little more. This led to my looking for a small community-focused personal training studio, which led me to ownership of Coastal Bodies!

I truly love every minute of every day at the Studio. Our little community is amazing; so friendly, so welcoming, and such a fun, happy, and fit bunch of people – it's like having a second family!! The wonderful PTs at the Studio are a great bunch to work with, and I could not be happier to have discovered this little gem.

Outside Coastal Bodies, I have many interests and loves: horse-riding, skiing, bushwalking, trekking—travelling, movies, great food and wine, cooking, reading, and learning German! And then there's animals… dogs, rabbits, pigs, Meerkats… if it's furry and/or cute, I want to take it home!
